The Courage to Be Vulnerable
Founder John Kuhlman established the Naked Firefighter in 2020 with a vision to integrate good mental health with fire safety training. Over time, the program has grown into a vital resource available to everyone seeking to turn vulnerability into strength. Telling his own story, he hopes to facilitate connection and conversation with others who may be struggling.
Working alongside his daughter, Montanna, the program now has a presence on Facebook, Instagram, and Youtube. Montanna has the role of media manager, and joined the team officially in 2025.
"Come experience one man's battle for breath and the culmination of knowledge and know-how gained from 30 years of fighting more than fires."
Our Mission
To spark honest conversations about mental health by sharing stories of vulnerability, breaking down stigmas, and building a supportive community where healing begins. We strive to create a safe space where every individual feels empowered to strip away the armor (get naked) and speak their truth.
Our Vision
We envision a future where mental well-being is treated with the same urgency as physical safety, fostering environments of trust, collective resilience, and proactive care. Our goal is to see a world where no one is left to fight their internal battles in silence or isolation.
The Approach
Radical Vulnerability
Breaking the Stigma
Actionable Healing
Presentations aren't lectures; they are raw, unfiltered stories that dismantle the 'armor' of professional identity to reveal human truth.
We create a safe space where mental health is discussed with the same urgency and practical focus as physical safety protocols.
Every talk provides a direct bridge to resources, ensuring no one leaves the room without the tools they need to continue their journey.
